ACDC GIRLS KICK OFF REGIONS WITH A WIN

In their first Region 5 matchup, the AC/DC girls took on the Lower Brule, Lady Sioux last Tuesday, February 25th. Lower Brule tried to keep up but they were no match for the Thunder who kept their lead through every quarter. First quarter ended with 18-3, second quarter with 37-18, third quarter with 53-25, and the final quarter 65-23. Starting off with the top performing ladies of the game was Halle Olson with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. Mahpiya Irving with 12 points and Leah Brown with 11 points and 5 steals. Nadia VanZuidam with 7 points and 4 rebounds and Gabbie Olson with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Congrats on making it to the semifinals ladies!

THUNDER VS JAGUARS AT THE CORN PALACE

Unfortunately in their next Region 5 match-up against the Corsica/Stickney Jaguars the Thunder girls were defeated 20-35 to end their season at the Mitchell Corn Palace on February 27th. Gabriella Olson had 8 points and 8 rebounds; Halle Olson had 6 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals; Leah Brown had 4 points; Nadia VanZuidam pulled down 5 rebounds on the night. The team shot 13% from the field sinking 6 of 43 and were 71% from the charity stripe sinking 10 of 14. The team pulled down 30 total rebounds and committed 15 turnovers. They end their season 16-6. Congratulations ladies on a great season, we are so proud of you all!
