The Red Raider boys played Spirit Lake Iowa at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls on Saturday. The boys started out well, scoring 19 points in the first quarter and led 28-20 at half time. Spirit Lake opened the second half on a 9-0 run to take a 1 point lead. The teams exchanged leads throughout the remainder of the game but Wagner fell just short 51-48. Parker Petry led the team with
16 points, and also had 4 rebounds. Preston McFayden scored 11 points and had 5 assists, Carlos Galindo added 10 points and 2 steals. Jesse Zephier scored 6 points, had 4 rebounds and 5 assists, Brady Cournoyer scored 5 points and grabbed a team high 6 rebounds. The boys are now 5-2 and play EPJ at home Tuesday night.
RAIDERS SEND THE HUSKIES HOME WHINING
The Raiders hosted Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday, and quickly took the lead in the first quarter,
14-6. The Huskies wouldn't go down easy though, racking up a combined 26 points in the second and third quarters, compared to the Raiders' 20. The Raiders fought back in the fourth to win the game by one point, 41-40. Parker Petry led the team with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist. Brady Cournoyer added 11 points, and had 9 rebounds, and 1 steal. Also contributing were: Preston Mc-Fayden with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal; Jesse Zephier with 5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals; Carlos Galindo with 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 2 steals; Ky Arpan with
2 rebounds and 1 steal; and Cruise Koupal with an assist.
WAGNER BOYS SUFFER A TOUGH LOSS IN PARKSTON
The Raiders traveled to Parkston last Thursday and suffered a 65-48 loss. Wagner boys gave it their all through the first and second quarter, ending the first half with a 1 point lead, 30-29, but lost momentum in the third, allowing the Trojans to take a massive
14 point lead going into the fourth. Wagner just couldn't close the gap in the fourth, scoring just 12 points compared to Parkston's
17, ending the game 65-48. Parker Petry again led the Raiders, scoring 13 points, and had 7 rebounds. Also contributing were: Carlos Galindo with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals; Preston McFayden with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and one assist; Brady Cournoyer with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals; Cruise Koupal with 4 points and 2 rebounds; Jesse Zephier with 3 points,
4 assists, and 2 steals; and Ky Arpan with 3 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists. Wagner will now face off against O'Neill on Tuesday.
