The Wagner varsity boys basketball team traveled to Ethan Tuesday night and picked up their fourth win in a row. The game was tied up 17-17 after the first period. Late in the second quarter, Wagner went on a small run to take a 39-34 lead into the half. Each team scored 8 points in the third quarter, but the Raiders stepped up their game on the defensive end late and held Ethan to just 5 points in the final period, going on to win the game 60-47. Brady Cournoyer and Parker Petry led a very balanced scoring attack, each with 14 points. Parker grabbed 10 rebounds and Brady had 8. Brady also had 3 assists and 3 blocked shots. Carlos Galindo added 13 points, had 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Preston McFayden scored 11 points and had 4 assists. Jesse Zephier scored 4 points and had a game high 7 assists. Ky Aroan and Cruise Kjoupal each scored 2 points. The Raiders blocked a total of 8 shots and won the game despite not attempting a free throw.

Wagner JV Falls Short in Ethan

The Wagner JV battled Ethan on Tuesday night in a JV game. The game was tied 9-9 after the first period but Wagner fell behind 19-12 after the second period. Wagner could not cut into the deficit in the third quarter but made a strong run late and trailed by just 3 points with under a minute left. The boys lost the game by a final score of 37-32. Ky Arpan scored a game high 13 points, Cruise Koupal and Deshawn Sully each scored 6, Kobe Drapeau, Avery Medicine Bear, and Payne Petry each scored 2 points. Leon Fields added 1 point.

COURNOYER'S BIG NIGHT CARRIES WAGNER OVER BON HOMME

The Wagner boys basketball team won their 5th game in a row Thursday night against Bon Homme. Wagner got off to a slow start, leading 13-7 after the first quarter. The boys played well in the second quarter and had a 35-15 lead a the half. Wagner held on to win the game by a final score of 62-40. Brady Cournoyer had a double double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Brady also blocked 4 shots. Preston McFayden scored 11 points for Wagner. Parker Petry grabbed 10 rebounds and added 6 points, Jesse Zephier scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists. Carlos Galindo scored 4 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, had 5 assists and 2 steals. Ky Arpan scored 5 points, Cruise Koupal 4, and Kobe Drapeau 2. Wagner travels to Sioux Falls on Saturday to play Spirit Lake Iowa at the Pentagon in the Border Clash.

Wagner JV Play Bon Homme

The Wager JV boys lost a tough game to Bon Homme on Thursday night. The boys build a 19-12 lead in the first half but struggled defensively in the fourth quarter and lost the game 35-32. Cruise Koupal led the team with 8 points, Kobe Drapeau added 7 points, Ky Arpan scored 6, AJ Kotab had 3, Leon Fields, Deshawn Sully, and Winston Little Moon each scored 2 points.
