The Raider boys got their third win in a row Friday Night in Avon. The game was tied 11-11 after the first period. Wagner built a 11 point lead in the second quarter but the Pirates made a late run to cut the deficit to 2 at half time. Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter, Wagner led 45-43. The boys outscored Avon 21-9 in the fourth quarter and won the game 66-52. Parker Petry led the team with 15 points, and also had 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Brady Cournoyer finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocked shots. Preston McFayden and Jesse Zephier had 11 points each, Jesse grabbed 5 rebounds, had 4 steals, and 3 deflections. Preston finished the game with 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Ky Arpan scored 9 points, had 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Carlos Galindo scored 6 points and had 4 assists. Wagner is now 3-1 and will travel to Ethan Tuesday night.
Wagner JV Gets First Win
The Wagner JV boys team over came an 11-2 first quarter deficit to get their first win of the season. The boys cut the Avon lead to 16-13 by half time and forced overtime with some late free throws. The Raiders won the game 44-39. Ky Arpan led the team with 15 points. Cruise Koupal and Payne Petry each scored 10, while Leon Fields, Colton Zephier, and Avery Medicine Bear each scored 3 points for Wagner. The JV team will play in Ethan Tuesday night.
