The Raiders boys basketball team got off to a fast start last Tuesday in Plankinton against the MVP Titans. Wagner opened up the game on a 16-0 run and led 16-5 after the first quarter. The boys took a 25-13 lead into half time and held on to win the game 53-43. MVP made things tough on the Raiders late in the game but the boys battled through and held on for the victory. Brady Cournoyer led all scorers with 16 points and was the KMIT player of the game. Brady also had 10 rebounds to lead the team. Parker Petry scored 14 points and had 6 rebounds, Preston McFayden added 8 points, had 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Jesse Zephier scored 6 points and had 4 steals, Cruise Koupal scored 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, Leon Fields scored 2 points, Carlos Galindo filled up the stat sheet with the addition of 2 points, 6 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds, and Ky Arpan scored 1 point. Wagner shot 50% from the field and 59% from the free throw line. The Raiders play TDA on Thursday night in Armour.

Wagner JV Takes on MVP

The Wagner boys JV team took on MVP Tuesday night in Mt. Vernon. MVP took an early 18-7 lead after the first period. Wagner won the second quarter 5 to 3 and trailed 21-12 at half time. MVP turned it on in the third quarter and took a 36-17 lead heading into the final period. MVP held on to their lead and won the game 43-26. Ky Arpan led the team with 12 points, Cruise Koupal scored 4, AJ Kotab 3, Jeremy Cheyenne 3, and Deshawn Sully and Colton Zephier added 2 each.

Wagner C Team Loses to MVP

The Wagner C team played MVP on Tuesday night. MVP jumped out to a 8-2 lead. Wagner got outscored 14-7 in the second quarter and 24 to 10 in the second half. Wagner lost the game 46-19. Colton Zephier led the team with 8 points, Bailer Lhotak scored 3, Avery Medicine Bear and Ethan Gabel each scored 2 points, and Zaiden Ross added 1.

ANOTHER WIN FOR THE RAIDERS

The Wagner boys basketball team won their second straight game with a 64-56 win over TDA. Parker Petry led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Preston McFayden added 16 points and 5 assists. Jesse Zephier made a bunch of free throws down the stretch to help close the game out for Wagner, and finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Brady Cournoyer scored 6 points and had 7 rebounds. Ky Arpan had 6 points, Carlos Galindo scored 5 points, had 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Cruise Koupal scored 4 points. The Raiders shot the ball 43% from the field and 70% from the foul line. Wagner is now 2-1 and will play Avon on January 3rd in Avon.

Wagner JV Falls Short to TDA

The Wagner boys JV team lost to TDA Thursday night. Wagner led 13-6 after the first period but were held to 2 points in the second period and trailed 19-13 at half time. Wagner hung with the Nighthawks in the second half but could not close the gap and lost by a final score of 40-30. Ky Arpan had a great game for Wagner scoring 18 points. Payne Petry added 8 points and Cruise Koupal scored 4. The Red Raiders are off until they travel to Avon on January 3rd.
