RAIDERS ADVANCE TO FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS

By
Coach Hunter Hewitt

On Friday the Red Raiders traveled to Miller to take on the Rustlers. The Raiders were able to come away with a 42-28 win. This win sealed us a playoff spot. We will travel to Mount Vernon on Thursday for round 1!

On the night Gannon Knebel lead the way rushing for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Knebel also contributed 173 yards passing for two touchdowns, while completing 12/18 passes. Among those catching passes for Knebel was Carlos Galindo. Carlos caught six passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Shea Kjeldgaard tagged on a 15 yard touchdown catch of his own as well. Another notable contribution on offense was Senior tailback Hunter Lhotak with 55 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Defensively the Red Raiders had some big plays where we saw two defensive linemen come away with interceptions. Parker Petry and Kobe Drapeau were able to each pickoff a Rustler pass. Petry returned his interception 35 yards to the Rustler six yard line. Petry also is credited for three sacks and a pass breakup. Drapeau and Brayden Kreber also contributed a sack each. In the secondary Gabe Houseman was able tag in on an interception as well. The Raiders look to clean things up this week before our playoff tilt in Mount Vernon. We are very excited for the opportunity. Show up and help make a difference! Go Big Red!
