The Wagner Boys Basketball team finished their season in the first week of March. The team finished with an 1111 record. Parker Petry led the team in many categories including, points scored, field goal percentage and field goals made. Preston McFayden led the team in 3 pointers made, Brady Cournoyer led the team in rebounds and blocked shots. Brady Cournoyer finished his career as the all-time blocked shots leader, he had 78 of them. Brady also broke the record for blocked shots in a season with 68 and he now has the record for blocks in a single game with 10. Carlos Galindo set a new school record with 97 assists in a single season.
There were several team records broken by the boys this season. The 24-25 Raiders set a new two-point percentage record, they shot 50.3% for the year. The boys also set a new mark in rebounding with 734, defensive rebounds with 539, assists with 348 and blocked shots 107. Wagner’s 24-25 boys also broke the all-time record for team blocked shots in a single game, they had 10 against ACDC.
Preston McFayden broke the single game record in 3 point percentage, he shot 86% (5-6) against Burke. Preston also finished 5th all time in games played, he played in 84 games in his career. McFayden finished 5th all time in field goals attempted, 2nd all time in 3 pointers made, 3rd all-time in 3 pointers attempted and 5th all-time in 3-point percentage. Preston finished 4th all time in career assists with 148. Parker Petry finished his career in the top 5 in many categories, he is 4th all time in field goal percentage, he shot 58% from the field. Parker is 3rd all time in two pointers attempted, and 3rd all time in two-point percentage. Parker also finished his career 4th all time in offensive rebounds with 131. The boys had a great year, the players coming back are looking forward to working hard in the off season.
