Buffalo Wild Wings was proud to announce that $23,717.16 was raised during their fundraising event to show support towards the town of Delmont following the devastating tornado.
Pickstown held its annual 4th of July Celebration with a Freedom 5K Fun Run, a parade and a dinner in the park. The winners of the Freedom 5K Fun Run were Richard Langdeaux Jr. with a time of 15:55 and Julie Alderink with 23:02. Connor Garwood and Mieke Slaba finished in second at 20:19 for Connor and 24.33 for Mieke. There was also a men and women’s walk where Steve and Margaret Reiser both finished in first with a time of 38:37 and Noreen Laska finished in second at 39:06.
Kaleb Hartley participated in the first ever Advanced Leadership Institute in Atlanta, GA during his Youth of the Year journey.

The Charles Mix County Historical Society held an open house in celebration of the 4th of July. Two cannons were fired by the First Infantry of Ft. Randall.
An unknown person was having fun flying his powered parachute over St. Francis Case during the 4th of July.

Construction on the Southern Missouri Recycling and Waste Management landfill located northwest of Lake Andes was to begin after a lengthy delay from lawsuits.
Tiphany Johnson and Jeffrey D. Dvorak announced their engagement.
Jennifer Slaba, Jennie Becvar and Jody Weber graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute.

Pfc William W. Kazena was home on leave from Camp Pendleton, CA.
A miscellaneous shower was held for Carol Scott at the Vernell Kreeger home.
The Dante softball team had three wins in a row, 8-5 in Greenwood, 23-2 in five innings with Pickstown and won over Tyndall but scores were not available.
Mrs. Delbert Matthies of Parkston was named to succeed Al Melmer as manager of Terminal Grain and Feed Elevator.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gau.

The “Jimmy Thomas Band” played at the dawn dance held at Bass Beach.
