Celebrate National Library Week at Lake Andes Public Library April 6–12, 2025 What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

At Lake Andes Public Library we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Our library provides unique programs or services, such as free Wi-Fi, digital collections, career workshops, makerspaces, STEAM programs, ensuring that everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect.

Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, Lake Andes Public Library is here to support your journey. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.

Join us for special National Library Week events:

•Story time – We will be reading the book “Stripes” on Monday, April 7th.

•Coloring Contest to celebrate National Library Week. Entries due Saturday, April 12th

•Friendship bracelets craft day. Wednesday, April 9th

•Seeding for the Library Garden, Thursday, April 10th

•Thank a Librarian day! Friday, April 11th This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you're visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, Lake Andes Public Library is here for you.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
