Lake Andes Holiday Activities

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” in Lake Andes! Continuing our tradition for the 7th year of a holiday celebration on the 1st weekend in Dec. The City of Lake Andes, Lake Andes Community Club, and Ft. Randall Pink Ladies are supporting the following Holiday Activities not only JUST Dec 5th, Friday, but extending into Saturday Dec 6th as well!

• Lake Andes businesses will be holding customer appreciation activities throughout the day. An activity for this year will be a Business Bingo for those over 18 years old. Pick up a Bingo Card at participating businesses on December 5th. Cards can also be picked up at the Public Library or City Hall. A special drawing for all those with a Bingo card will take place after the Parade. Bingo cards need to be handed in to the Library or City Office by 1:00 on Saturday, Dec 6.

• Christmas Scavenger Hunt for 4th-12th grade beginning after 1:00 pm on Dec. 5th and concluding at 5:00 on Dec. 5th will be sponsored by the Lake Andes Public Library. Pizza certificates to the first 3 finishers.

• Porch Pot Party at the library beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5th with more sessions at 6:00 and 7:00; 8 participants for each session. Lutheran Social Services is providing funds for the party participants. For more info contact MJ Parker at the Library. Sign up at the library! $10.00 holds your spot. A food donation will be part of your fee to participate.

Saturday, December 6th, 2025

• Ft. Randall Pink Ladies will be hosting the Holiday Craft Fair from 4:00pm-9:00pm at Gray Wolf Plaza located at 51 S 3rd Avenue (across the street from What the Duck? BBQ & Grill).

• The 7th Annual Parade of Lights will begin at 6 p.m. Line up at Lake Andes Healthcare Center at 5:30pm and proceed past City Park concluding at Christmas Tree on Main Street. Theme this year is “Home Town Christmas in Lake Andes”. Parade is open to entries by families, businesses, farms, organizations, school organizations, horses and churches. Only requirement is that it needs to be lighted. • City Christmas Tree will be set up on empty lot at 3rd Avenue and Main Street. Lighting will take place at 6:30 p.m. or as soon as parade concludes. Pictures with Santa can be taken after the lighting.

• Customer Appreciation Drawings for Hams and Turkeys will be held after the Parade of Lights. Businesses in Lake Andes will have tickets available for their customers starting November 24 through 4:00 on Friday, Dec. 5th. Must be 18 to participate in the drawing.

It is hoped that we can have a great showing of young and old at these activities.
