Wagner Varsity and JV Both Go 2-2 at Parkston Tournament

The Wagner Volleyball team traveled to Parkston on Saturday, August 31st to compete. The varsity lost a close one to Parkston (25-20, 15-25, 16-25), defeated McCook Central/Montrose (25-16, 25-16), lost to Warner (8-25, 11-25) and then defeated Kimball/ White Lake (25-15, 25-16).

Varsity outside hitters Ravyn Medricky and Hannah Holzbauer led all hitters with 29 and 15 kills on the day. Brianna Fuchs earned 8, Ashtyn Bruguier added 5 and Brylie Link had 4. Setter Braxton Nedved dished the ball out 53 times. Holzbauer led the defense picking up 51 digs, Libby Kotab added 46 while Medricky picked up 28 and Nedved had 27. Holzbauer also led behind the service line with 34 points/5 aces. Brianna Fuchs earned 18 points/2 aces, Nedved added 15 points/4 aces and Link had 15 points/2 aces. Medricky put up 5 blocks while Fuchs and Link each had 3.

The JV beat Parkson (25-10, 26-24), lost to Mc-Cook Central/Montrose (21-25, 16-25, 6-15), lost to Warner (14-25, 16-25) and beat Kimball/White Lake (25-19, 25-11).

The JV was led by outside hitter Mateya Bruguier earning 10 kills on the day. Adara Hopkins added 6 and middle hitters Emma Kreeger and Taelyn Knebel each had 5. Setters Kylin Insko and Camry Link tallied 29 and 7 assists. Mila Hopkins and Adara Hopkins led the defense racking up 21 digs apiece. M. Bruguier added 18 and Insko had 6. At the service line M. Hopkins racked up 11 aces, Insko tallied 8, M. Bruguier added 5 and C. Link had 4. Knebel had 2 blocks on the day.
