LADY RED RAIDERS DEFEAT THE PIRATES IN 4 SETS

The Wagner Volleyball team hosted the Avon Lady Pirates on Tuesday, September 17th. The scores of the match were 22-25, 25-23, 25-29 and 25-22.

Sophomore Ravyn Medricky led all attackers with 16 kills. Hannah Holzbauer added 14 along with Brylie Link and Braxton Nedved each earning 7 apiece. Nedved tallied 37 assists in the match. Libby Kotab led behind the service line with 13 points/3 aces while Medricky added 13 points/2 aces, and Brianna Fuchs had 9 points/5 aces. Kotab scrambled in the back court picking up 24 digs, Medricky picked up 18, while Holzbauer and Nedved each had 17 on the night. Medricky put up 3 blocks and Fuchs earned 2 in the win.

The JV lost in 3 close sets. Scores were 25-18, 21-25, 15-17. Adara Hopkins led the attack throwing down 6 kills along with Kylin Insko and Mateya Bruguier each earning 5. Insko distributed the ball 11 times and Mila Hopkins had 6 assists. A. Hopkins led all servers with 10 points/1 ace, Insko added 9 points/2 aces, and M. Bruguier had 8 points/2 aces. Hayden Knudsen led the defense picking up 11 digs, M. Hopkins added 8, M. Bruguier had 7, and Insko had 5.

The C team battled and picked up the win with scores of 27-25, 15-25, and 15-9. Ty’Shay Medicine Bear and Camry Link each earned 4 kills and Tegan Langdeaux added 3 in the win. Link tallied 8 assists and Bella Kotab had 3. Link led the defense with 6 digs, Kendra Van Duysen added 5 while Izzy Myer and Taelyn Knebel each had 4. Medicine Bear led at the service line with 10 points/5 aces, Landeaux added 7 points/4 aces, Knebel had 7 points/2 aces and B. Kotab had 6 points/4 aces.

The Wagner Volleyball team travels to Tyndall on Tuesday, September 24th to take on the Cavaliers and then hosts Kimball/ White Lake on Thursday, September 26th.
