WHAT TO DO TO BE USED
PROVERBS 25:4 "Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer."(KJV)
This scripture is noting a process that is needed to make silver pure which can be used for good for the one who processes the silver.
The silver is heated up until it is melted and the dross (or impurities) is skimmed off, as they are in effect making the silver impure. This process is repeated over and over until all the dross (or impurities) have been removed and then the silver can be used in it's purest form.
People are like the impure silver, which in their impure state cannot be properly used for the purpose God has for them.
Impurities in people are called sin. For God to be able to use people for His cause sin must be removed. God has a purpose for all people yet He cannot get His purpose fulfilled if sin is perpetrating the person's heart. How does God clean up the sin in a person's heart?
God, by His Word, causes a person to recognize that their sin is hindering them from being a servant of God so He offers them mercy, and forgiveness for their sins if they repent of them.
This is the first step for removing the dross in their life. This person will have a change in their life. 11 CORINTHIANS 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new."(KJV) When sin's forgiveness is completed and this person has been cleansed of their sin then they will be able to be used of God for His purpose just as the silversmith can use the pure silver for his use. 11TIMOTHY 2:21 "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."(KJV)
We can see from these scriptures that for us to be used of God for His purpose we must be cleansed of the sin in our life and be willing to keep ourselves pure for His purpose in us to be accomplished.
To stay pure we should claim 1 JOHN 9 daily, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."(KJV)
Do this daily and God will be able to use you for His purpose. Now you know what to do to be used of God.
Have you been cleansed?
