WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND

P ROVERBS 24:19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked. The word 'fret' in this Scripture means to worry.

Many people worry about what evil men do, and when they do they are not thinking about what they themselves ought to be doing. Spending time thinking about evil men and their actions is counterproductive to a person who knows the Lord.

Some people have said--I don't know why lost people have all the good things, houses, cars, boats, lots of money and so on, this is a common thought about people that do not attend church, do not pay their bills, and do not many things that they should do--yet they have all these provisions. Some might even say--it isn't fair.

But they are not looking at the situation in the sense that the Lord does. What they are doing is accumulating worldly things that--no matter how well they care for them, they will eventually wear out and what was something that they could brag about having is now become useless to them. Houses begin to need repair, cars begin to rust and will not run and are not reliable.

This list could go on and on but why be envious of someone who has these things when you know that they will not have them for long.

What a person ought to be doing is not worrying about what others have worldly--but they themselves realize that all worldly possessions will fade away but those treasures that are awaiting them in heaven have an everlasting guarantee. The first true blessing that a saved person has is eternal life. A lost person does not have this. A saved person has all their sins forgiven and forgotten by the Lord Jesus. The lost person don't have that--they will pay for their own sins--eternally.

A saved person will dwell with Jesus and all past saved relatives, friends, and many other saved souls. A lost person will dwell forever in the presence of Satan, in the lake of fire where the fire will never go out, where the worm dieth not where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

What a person ought to do is not worry about what lost people have but think what they do not have and spend time telling them of the free pardon of sin given by Jesus Christ. What they now have is simply temporary but what you have is eternal, WE are told as Christians to be witnesses for Christ and to love, honor and to serve Him and will be blessed for doing so.

Keep our mind on the right thing and that is Jesus Christ.
