MARK 12:14-17 "And when they (the Pharisees) were come, they say unto him (first as a complement) Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. (then comes the words that are said to catch Jesus in His own Words) Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not? Shall we give or shall we not give? But he knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me a penny, that I may see it. And they brought it, and he saith unto them (catching them in their own scheme ) whose is this image and superscription? And the answered Caesar"s. And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesars" and to God the things that are God's. And they Marveled at him." (KJV)

This scripture always seems to be about money, since a penny was used to teach the Pharisees a lesson, it was about the coin.

But it is also for us to know that whatever we have, we have because God gives it to us.

We that are saved belong to Jesus who thru salvation. He purchased us with His blood on the cross. He paid our sin debt for us. Now we no longer belong to ourselves but we are His.

We are allowed by God to do many things on Earth. For instance: pay taxes, those taxes belong to the government, they should be paid in full.

But remember, we belong to Jesus.

Paraphrasing Jesus, He is telling us that whatever belongs to the government, give to the government, but He says to give to God those things that are God's. This means that we should live our life in such a way that we give ourselves to Jesus.

We are blessed of Him thru Salvation we have been forgiven and promised everlasting life with Jesus.

The least that we can do on this earth is to live our life in such a way that we are not our own, but His.

When He gave us Salvation, we gave Him ourselves. We are to love, honor and serve Him. We are righteously His, give unto Him ourselves.
