PSALM 111:1-10 "1. Praise ye the Lord, I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. 2. The word of the Lord is great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. 3. His work is honorable and glorious: the Lord is gracious and his righteousness endureth forever. 4. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. 5. He hath given meat to them that fear him, and he will ever be mindful of his covenant. 6. He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. 7. The works of his hands are verity and judgment: all his commandments are sure.
8. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. 9. He sent redemption unto his people, He hath commanded his covenant forever: Holy and Reverend is his name. 10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth forever." (KJV)
As we can see this Psalm of David is bringing out the greatness of God. David uses words that are complementary as he describes some of the wonders of God such as: great (in verse 2) honorable, glorious (in verse 3) endureth forever (in verse 3) wonderful works (in verse 4) gracious (verse 4) described as compassionate (in verse 4) ( verse 5 ) indicates that he will provide food and other essentials to those that fear him, He hasn't forgotten His covenant-, His promise of eternal life to those who believe. He demonstrated His power of His works, calmed the sea, and promised them heritage in heaven forever verse 6). All His commandments are sure. He has blessings for all who abide and obey them. (verse 7) His commands are solid, don't change and will not forever. (verse 8) He sent Jesus to redeem the world of sin two other names for Jesus are Holy and Reverend and He is both. (verse 9) (verse 10) Tells of how we can attain wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, the more you know about the Lord the more wisdom you will have. For all that do His commandments they will praise His forever."(KJV)
