KEEP OUR MINDS ON OUR SAVIOR
PHILIPPIANS 3-13-21 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect (mature) be thus minded: and if any thing be ye otherwise minded: God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, where we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me (Paul is saying) and mark them which walk so as ye have us for example (and be careful of those who do not follow the Word of God) (For many walk, of whom I (Paul) have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven: from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself.”(KJV)
Paul is speaking to the souls of the church in the Phillippian Church.
He is telling them that they should live a life as followers of Christ ( Since they are saved)
This aught to be in your mind constantly, to be to the best of your ability like Jesus in all that you do.
Now that we are saved we should walk by the same rule by following the teachings that are found in God’s Word, the Bible
Paul is telling them that they should follow his example as he lived before them and be careful of those who do not follow the Word of God.
There are many around us who acting as if they are followers of Christ who by their own actions show that they are the enemies of Christ. Their end is destruction by teaching and living like they are heaven bound because of what they do and not what Christ did for them.
Our conversation is in heaven from whence we also look for the Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.
We look at things of the world as needed but what of what we think is needed is not necessary yet people strive to have them all. Rather than think of worldly things we should keep our minds on our Savior who shall change our vile (sinful) body that it may be fashioned (changed) unto his glorious body.
This new body will be perfect and in heaven it will never be subjected to sin, it will be glorious like Jesus body. His will have the marks of the nails in His hands and feet to remind us of what He did for us to be in heaven.
To live for Him here on earth will be our way of gratitude for His living and dying for us. We should think about how much He loved us and return that love by living for Him as He wants us to live. Loving, honoring and serving Him.
Is your mind of the Savior?
Just Thought I’d ask
