The New Locker Rooms

Avon High School recently went through a couple renovations over the summer. The school just added a new parking spot, a new sidewalk, and so far, the best renovation was the brand-new locker room. Something many of the students have hoped to receive! The locker room has brand new floors that are freshly waxed, freshly painted white walls, brand new benches, and a counter which is brand new. Overall, the locker room has been a great new renovation over the summer. New Students vs. Old Students Perspective on The First Day of School We have many new students at Avon High School, including one from outside the country! First, we interviewed the new students. Most of the new students thought that our school was stricter than their old school, but also more interactive. Some of their favorite classes include Precalculus, English, Band, Algebra, and Creative English. Even though finding your way around a new school is extremely hard, the new students thought that their classmates were very welcoming and helped them with their classes. The students also thought that their classmates were all funny and easy to get along with. All the new students also liked their coaches and thought that the teams were organized. A lot of students are having trouble adjusting to the new rules, but they hope to get used to them by the end of the year. Next, we interviewed the old students. Many of the old students were excited to come to school and see their friends. They thought that their classmates were nice to be around because they have fun personalities. They thought that the new kids were nice, and a good addition to their class. Many of the new students also thought that their classes were going well. They also thought that their teachers make learning extremely fun, and easy to understand. Although the seniors are sad that this is their last year with them, they are also happy that they have so many fun memories. Although some students enjoy the new rules saying that they understand why we need them, others do not. One student said, “I don't like the new planner rule. It's like a pimple that won't go away.” Although they don't enjoy the new rules, they still have goals of getting better grades and doing better in their classes. All the students coming back hope to have another great year as an Avon Pirate.
