Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on June 19 at the Post Home with 15 members present.
President Alyssa Mathis called the meeting to order. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was given and approved.
Motion was made by Mieke Slaba and seconded by Pam Bastemeyer to pay bills presented. Motion carried.
Correspondence was read from District 8 President Karen Richlien.
Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.
Thank you to all auxiliary members that furnished salads and desserts for the meal on Memorial Day. Also, a big thank you to all who furnished bars/desserts and worked in the lunch stand at the Wagner Cancer Rummage Sale.
Carol Tolliver made motion to pay the Legion for supplies used for lunch stand, seconded by Mieke Slaba. Motion carried.
Barbara Clemens made motion to make donation of the exact amount of money from lunch stand to Wagner Cancer Walk, seconded by Carol Tolliver. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Juanita Stone, seconded by Josie Rezac to make payment to our obligations at the September meeting. Motion carried.
The following officers were installed for 2025-2026: President – Alyssa Mathis, Vice President – Juanita Stone, Secretary – Jeanette Fuchs, Treasurer – Barbara Wiechmann, Chaplain – Margie Stone, Historian – Dolores Kotab, Sergeant at Arms – Shelly Mach, Parliamentarian – Kathleen Geiman, and Membership – Barbara Kucera.
The basket was won by Juanita Stone and donated back to the Children and Youth Fund.
As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplain Margie Stone read the Prayer for Peace and President Alyssa Mathis adjourned the meeting.
