The Thunder varsity girls traveled to Avon to participate in the GPAC on Saturday, February 15th where they faced the Centerville Tornadoes. AC/DC fought hard, but struggled to pass up Centerville as they kept an average 10 point lead on them every quarter. The final score of the game resulted loss at 52-65. Gabriella Olson led the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Nadia Van Zuidam with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Halle Olson with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Leah Brown with 2 assists and Mahpiya Irving with 2 steals.
TURNING THINGS AROUND AT KIMBALL
Thunder varsity girls fought neck and neck against the Kimball/Whitelake WiLdKats on Thursday, February 20th. AC/DC trailed behind only 2 points in the first quarter with 8-10. The two teams tied it up in the second quarter both at 22 points. The girls pulled ahead in the third quarter with 38-29 and kept the momentum going coming out on top with a final score of 45-38. Leading the team was Mahpiya Irving with 17 points and Halle Olson with 16 points, and they both had 3 assists. Halle Olson also had 11 rebounds and 11 blocks. Gabbie Olson with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Adaya Arrow with 5 rebounds and Leah Brown with 2 steals.
