FIRST TWO WINS

By

Wagner’s Post 7319 VFW 14U teener team traveled to Tyndall on Monday, June 9, for two games. It was a good night for these boys as they would get their first two wins of the year.

In the first game, Jacob Kotab took to the hill and earned the complete game win. He would give up four runs, two earned, on eight hits while walking three and striking out six.

After a scoreless first frame, Wagner would pounce for seven runs in the second to put the game out of reach as we would go on to win by a 10-4 score. Cooper Gene Kuhlman and Austin DeVries led the way at the plate as they both had two hits with a run scored and an RBI. Kotab, Colton Zephier, Ethan Gabel, and Tyler Ronfeldt all had one hit and one run scored. Mason Milk walked twice and scored twice. Ruger Loeffler and Jackson Woods each scored a run and Connor Gabel had one hit and an RBI.

In game number two Landon Ronfeldt took the ball and seemed to find his groove. After a rough first outing of the year he pitched well in this one. Like Kotab, he also went the distance. He gave up just two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one.

Kuhlman had the lone Wagner hit and scored one run. Kotab and Connor Gabel each walked and scored a run to give Wagner a 3-2 victory.
