Ms. Emma Reck teaches 5th grade and grew up in Sioux Falls. She attended Northern State University, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. As a student she enjoyed Social Studies, and now as a teacher she loves guiding her students through both Language Arts and Social Studies.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Reck enjoys building Legos, reading, and playing video games. She’s also had the opportunity to travel overseas, visiting London and Edinburgh, Scotland. Her favorite snack is popcorn mixed with M&M’s, and she finds inspiration in Amanda Gorman’s words: “There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it.”

For Ms. Reck, the greatest joy of teaching comes from watching her students show up to school eager to learn each day, as well as building strong connections with her fellow teachers and staff.
