Logan Mudder is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from Golden West Telecommunications.

Another 14 passenger van has been added to the Avon School Fleet. The vans can haul smaller numbers in golf, sometimes track and music events.

The Mets bats boomed in an 18-1 win over the Tyndall Arrows. Big Jon Westling was the leading hitter.

The Junior Legion lost 8-4 to Tripp. Bob Sattler was on the mound. Bob Oorlog had two singles and Mike Oorlog had a triple and a single.

Charmaine Muller and Larry Pelton are engaged. Funeral services for William Seiling, age 74, were held at the First Presbyterian Church.

Robert Eggers trucked the houshold goods of Mr. and Mrs. Jean Hebner from Minnesota to Tripp where they will operate a dry cleaning shop.

Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hornstra and Nancy went to Madison to visit the Bill Hahn's.

The Avon Band held its first rehearsal of the season at the Opera House.

Professor C.A. Larson has been hired to superintend the Avon School for the next school year.

All the rural schools are closed for the year. The Avon Tennis Champs defeated Tyndall on Friday. Funeral services for Albert Crosby were held at the Pres. Church. He was 51 years old.
