1 CORINTHIANS 12:1-14 "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren,I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away with dumb idols, even as you were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit, and there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord, and there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit to another the gift of healing,by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; (languages)to another the interpretation of tongues:: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame spirit,dividing to every man severally as He will. For the body is one, and hath many members of that one body, being many, are one body: So also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles; whether we be bond or free; and have been made to drink into one spirit. For the body is not one member, but many."(KJV)

This is simply saying that all born again believers God has something for them to do. If they were all to do the same thing there would be no need for others to work on other things.

All cannot be preachers, for who would they preach to. All cannot be teachers for who would they teach. But each has a special task to perform for the glory of God.

Each is a member of the body of Christ, and there is none that is not necessary nor is there who have nothing to do for Christ.

Each has a special service for God, that they and only they can do for Him. For the Body of Christ to do what God wants, we must all work together as do the eyes, ears, arms, legs and so on do in a physical body.

We should pray and seek out just what God specifically wants for us to do to be a complete part of the body of Christ .
