Andes Central Teacher Spotlights
By
Diane Herrold

Mrs. Diane Herrold is the 1st Grade Teacher at Andes Central. She was raised on a farm near Bruce and attended Sioux Valley schools. After this, received a Bachelors of Arts of Elementary Education from Northern State University. To further her education, she earned her Masters Degree in reading and literacy from Walden University.

As a child, Diane loved reading. Whether it was attending reading classes or just simply going to the library whenever she had free time. Now as Diane is older and a teacher, she loves teaching reading to her students and is sure to read to them everyday. She loves seeing the look of accomplishment on a child's face when they realize they have accomplished something that they felt was difficult or impossible to do.

Whenever Diane is free from her 'on the go' schedule, she finds time to be outdoors taking walks and reading. She also enjoys bike riding and even rode her bike across the Golden Gate Bridge! Diane's favorite snack is popcorn and as a go-to treat, she loves all things chocolate. Her favorite quote is, 'Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.' By Maya Angelou.
