Representing DC as a quartet at the Annual All-State Orchestra and Choir Concert were: Danae Feenstra, alto (daughter of Dustin and Val Feenstra); Brooklyn Hubers, soprano (daughter of Matt and Rachelle Hubers); Director Beth Maas; Ty Maas (son of Joel and Tracy Maas), tenor; and Jaden Faller (son of Dan and Rachel Faller), bass. Students spent Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, practicing seven pieces of music, including two combined songs with the orchestra. The concert was performed Saturday evening at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Dr. Jeffery Redding was the guest choral director. Dr. Redding is a 2019 Grammy Music Educator Award recipient and is the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Florida. He is known for being passionate about finding unity through music, as was evident in his directing style and musical selections. (Concert is available for viewing on the SDHSAA website.)
