Friday night of October 4th saw the Tripp-Delmont/ Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunderhawks hosting the Avon Pirates at Armour’s football field.
This was a very exciting match up as both teams came into the game with a 5-0, undefeated record. Unfortunately, eventhoughtheThunderhawks worked hard and stepped up on the field, they fell short to Avon with a final score of 30-26.
Leading the offense this week was Sabas DeHaan with 141 rush yards, one touchdown and a two-point conversion. Following DeHaan was teammate, Garth Maas with 111 rush yards and three touchdowns. Hunter Loeffler, Jamian Medicine Horn and Isaac Wunder all added to the offense in rushing yards. Riley Spaans led the Thunderhawk defense with 11 tackles and one tackle for loss. Garth Maas also had a good night for the team in defense as well with seven tackles, two tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Isaac Wunder, Ty Archambeau, AJ Johnson, Sabas DeHaan and Traeson Wetherford also added to the defense with four and a half tackles; three tackles, two tackles for loss; two tackles, one and a half tackles for loss; two and half tackles; and two tackles respectively. The Thunderhawks played a great game and will be in action again this Friday, October 11th when they travel to play Colome.
