On February 13th and 14th the Avon Senior Choir Members held their annual "Sweetheart Serenades" fundraiser. The 15 students traveled to 10 area towns, singing the song "That's What Makes You Beautiful" a total of 48 times. Thank you so much for supporting this fundraiser, and not only blessing us monetarily, but with memories that will truly make us look back and smile in the years to come. Every year this is such a hit, and although I warn the kids about what a "feel good" day it is, they don't buy into it much until they get to experience it firsthand. From visiting a colony for the first time, to singing at the Tripp Assembly in front of the entire school (poor timing), surprising the cafeteria in Corsica, singing at the Dakota Christian lobby, singing to 3 daycares, and surprising unsuspecting victims all day, it was a BLESSING to be such a light in their day. There were so many elders just happy to see other people, since the weather has kept them cooped up inside. Their tears of pure happiness showed how much that meant to them, and I am so grateful for those that continue supporting this community outreach year after year.
