AVON DOMINATES OVER JONES COUNTY FOR HALF-TIME WIN 67-6

Avon Pirates started their playoffs on top after they dominated over Jones County for the win at half-time 67-6. The first quarter had the scoreboard lighting up right away with seconds off the clock with Aziah Meyer's 41-yard touchdown run followed by Trent Soukup completing the run for the 2-point conversion. The Pirates did allow a 78 yard kickoff return to put Jones County on the scoreboard with 6 after a failed 2-point conversion. Avon didn't stop there as Al'Shamon Gunter completed the 13-yard pass from Quarterback Easton Sees with Meyer running in for the 2-point conversion. Meyer wasn't done yet as had a 32-yard run for the touchdown with Kahle Hill running in the 2-point conversion to end the first quarter 24-6. The second quarter had the Pirates racking up the points on the scoreboard starting with Gunter completing the 8-yard pass from Weston Bierema and Lance Odens ran in the 2-point conversion. Hill was next to add a touchdown to the scoreboard with a 5-yard run. Jaydon Driesen added a 5-yard run for the touchdown with Gunter running in the 2-point conversion. Landon Mudder was next to the boards after a 17-yard touchdown run with Driesen running in the 2-point conversion. Driesen wasn't done yet as he added a 16-yard touchdown run. The first half ended with Gunter making a huge 38-yard interception run for the touchdown with Doom kicking in the extra point to end the game 67-6. Meyer led the rushing with 147 yards and 2 touchdowns, Soukup had 93 yards, Driesen had 36 yards and 2 touchdowns, Grayson Ratzlaff had 29 yards, Mudder had 28 yards and a touchdown, Bierema had 17 yards, and Hill had 5 yards and a touchdown. On the defense, Gunter had 9 tackles, 3 assists and 1 sack; Driesen had 1 tackle and 1 assist; Mudder, Hill and Doom each had 1 tackle; Soukup, Grayson Ratzlaff and Treyvan Talsma each had 2 assists; Meyer and Fathke each had 1 assist. Avon will host Canistota on Thursday, October 31st with kickoff at 7 p.m. Come on out and cheer on your Pirates!!!
