The Avon 12U REC started off League play with a 13-0 win over Platte. Avon got on the board in the first inning when Stella Ratzlaff singled andwasdriveninbyadoubleby Harper Kracht. On Friday the Avon REC team took on Wagner. Avon struck first when Emersyn Haenfler walked and Harper Krachtfollowedwithatworun homer. Avon added two more in the second when Emersyn and Stella Ratzlaff walked advanced on a wild pitch and were driven in by a single by Harper. Stella led off the 4th with a single, Harper and Johanna Namminga walked. Two runs scored on a fielder’s choice by Macy Haynes. Avon then held on to win by a final score of 11-3. Harper picked up the win on the mound pitching all five innings. She finished thegamewith6strikeoutand 6 walkswhileonlysurrendering one hit.
